Blog/Life Make-Over!!

I have been out of the blogging world for a very long time...too long!! Life is full of twists and turns and my life has taken so many in the past few years, it's time to get it all straight. We recently purchased land and will soon be leaving the beautiful house I posted about here. It will be quite a change, as we are moving in to a MUCH smaller trailer home. This was one of those "too good to pass up" deals and we are jumping at the chance. The land is amazing, and beautiful and we can't wait to get out there.

We have chosen to return to homeschooling, and will be homeschooling our youngest 3 children. When we make the big move to our "mini-farm", we hope to raise chickens, goats, and next spring our plan is to plant a huge garden and learn to can our own food. We are tired of the city, and the rat race. We want peace and quiet for our family and we hope this is the answer for us.

So, follow along with me as I blog about our adventures of living off the land, living a more frugal life, and homeschooling. I plan to include posts on crafting, photography, couponing, cooking, and more.... so stay tuned!

HELLO 2011!

2010 proved to be a pretty amazing year for me, especially after experiencing so much loss and turmoil in the 3 years before.
  • In 2010 my marriage proved to be stronger than the demons trying to destroy it.

  • We moved out of the town I was raised in to a new, beautiful house, in an even smaller town that we LOVE.

  • I was able to quit my job and concentrate on my love/passion for photography.

  • Finally figured out what was making my potassium drop to a dangerous level (more on that someday).

  • Then the year ended with the best Christmas gift EVER... a new grand daughter born on Christmas Eve!

KAMBRI DAWN

Now for 2011!!

  • Learn as much as I can this year about photography, lighting, posing, photo shop, trying to soak it all in... never want to stop learning.
  • Create and offer my own designs for my customers...cards..etc.
  • Cook more from scratch, less processed, and organic when I can. ( more to come on this)
  • Grow a garden.
  • Shop local, for everything from eating out to buying gifts, to buying produce from local farmers.
  • Keep my potassium in check by eating less carbs and sugars.
  • Back to taking the family on weekend road trips...I miss those dearly and we are starting this Monday with a day trip to a dinosaur museum!
  • BUDGET. BUDGET. BUDGET!

I am so excited about the coming year, so many ideas my brain just can't settle down and I can't wait to share with you all. But, it's after 3am, so I am shutting it down for now. Looking forward to the future....Goodnight.

Santa...here's my list.....

I am new to the photography industry, and there are so many products out there that my head is swimming trying to decide what to offer my clients for the new year. But, here are a few things that I know I would LOVE to have under my tree this year!!

Anything from CanvasRox

Her bags/purses/photos printed on metal are fabulous!!!! I first heard about her on The Nate Berkus Show when MeRa Koh (another blog/photographer/mentor you should check out) mentioned them. I am a fan and can't wait to place an order!

These frames from The Organic Bloom!!!

I first found them on Facebook, realized they are here in my own home state of Oklahoma, and signed up to be able to offer these beautiful frames to my clients. If you get a chance, "like" them on Facebook and read their story in the notes section. Their business "BLOOMED" beyond what they ever dreamed and it is such a sweet story! They also happen to have a fun contest going on right now over on their blog...check it out....good luck to you....but I am crossing my fingers that I win one of the sets of frames!

I am always on the lookout for photography props, hats for newborns/kids, chairs, toys, etc... When I saw these hats and headbands from Gracylu Originals I was blown away!!! They are beyond BEAUTIFUL!!! She also happens to be part of the giveaway on The Organic Bloom blog!
Can't wait to place my order with all of these amazing vendors!! Please Santa....
